7 Recent Exoplanets discoveries

Well starting with the bad news..NO, WE HAVEN’T FOUND THE ALIENS “YET”. But the good news is about Recent Exoplanets discoveries. The newly discovered 7 Exoplanets are approximately the same size as our mother earth!

  • According to VEX, the past few years have seen an explosion of exoplanets outside our solar system. Astronomers have now confirmed 3442 exoplanets in the galaxy, and they think there could be 100 billion or more!

Vex further added that  NASA and astronomers around the world aren’t just searching for any normal mundane planets. They’re particularly focused on the search for planets in the “habitable zone” of star systems. That means water can exist on the surface in a liquid form. Finding Earth-size, potentially habitable planets are the first step to finding other life in the universe.

The telegraph mentions TRAPPIST-1. It stands for Transiting Planets and Planetesimals Small Telescope. The discovery is a small, dim star in the constellation Aquarius, less than 40 light-years from Earth, or 235 trillion miles away, according to NASA and the Belgian-led research team who announced its discovery on Wednesday.

Six of TRAPPIST-1’s “exoplanets” lie in a temperate zone where surface temperatures range from zero to 100 C. No other star system known contains such a large number of Earth-sized and probably rocky planets. All are about the same size as Earth or Venus, or slightly smaller.

So cool, no? Hey don’t be disheartened, you never know, the next thing I am writing may not be just about the Recent Exoplanets discoveries but could be about a mysterious figure on earth!

An alien? Maybe! :p
