A mesmerising night for thousands of teens at the Manchester Arena, experiencing ‘Dangerous Woman’ pop star Ariana Grande, turned into a nightmare, when a bomb was exploded by a suicide bomber Salman Abedi, leaving 22 people dead and dozens injured. The blast which is also known as Manchester Blast is said to be the worst terror attack in Britain.
# Manchester Blast: IMMEDIATE REACTION
Though the Islamic State has taken the responsibility of the Manchester Blast, it is the worst attack in Britain since 2005, which left 52 people dead. The act of terrorism has filled the IS supporters with joy, stating “It seems that the bombs of the British Air Force over children of Mosul and Raqqa have just come back to #Manchester.” While the incident left the country in a state of despair, with many relatives and friends went missing. The social media platform Twitter was flooded with smiling photographs of hundreds of teenagers, each one having a common message to find their loved ones lost in the Manchester Blast.
The pop star too took to Twitter, saying “Broken. From the bottom of my heart. I am so sorry. I don’t have words.”
On the political grounds, British Prime Minister Theresa May halted her election campaigns for the upcoming elections, and raised the terror threat to ‘Critical.’ The President of the United States of America Donald Trump stated “I won’t call them monsters because they would like it. I will call them losers because that’s what they are!”
But still, it wasn’t able to break through the wall of unity and solidarity of the citizens of Manchester.
# UNITED THEY STAND:
The people of Manchester allayed the tousle. Under the hashtag #RoomForManchester, taxi drivers provided free pick and drop to the needy; homes and hotels were left open for the victims; and restaurants wide open, welcoming all who needed food. The incident brought together the world with Manchester, with support pouring in from all directions. A donation of 300,000$ was collected in a span of a few hours. With many real-life superheroes like ‘Angel of Manchester’ Paula Robinson, who rounded up over 50 teens in shock from the explosion, and took them to a nearby hotel to comfort them. The Police assigned a dedicated phone number for the concerned of the missing, dead or injured. The city of Manchester was down, but not out. While the investigation continues, the UK stands for quick justice.
Manchester Blast shall stay as a wound in the memory of our world history.
