Little did we know, it’s a two-sided game! There are a number of Bollywood movies which are an inspiration to Hollywood and also considered worthy to make a remake of!

1. Jab We Met – Leap Year
#1 Bollywood movies which inspired Hollywood movies: Kareena Kapoor has played the role of Geet in the movie Jab We Met (2007). She’s a happy and optimistic girl who in the first place travels her way to propose her lover, meets another man, then shares the same hotel room and they end up falling in love and marrying each other. As a matter of fact, the makers of Leap Year (2010) claimed that the movie isn’t inspired by JWM, but we could see ourselves, how these two movies have such a similar plot. Imtiaz Ali, director of JWM, on his part told the media that he has no objection over the copyrights and moreover, he feels glad and overjoyed hearing that his film is an inspiration to Hollywood.
2. A Wednesday – A Common Man
#2 Bollywood movies which inspired Hollywood movies: A Common Man (2013) is a successful movie which is an inspiration as well as an official remake of the brilliant movie “A Wednesday” (2008). Naseeruddin Shah’s character was played by Ben Kingsley in the film which of course ended up receiving numerous awards on the whole.
3. Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? – Just Go With It
#3 Bollywood movies which inspired Hollywood movies: Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? (2005) and Just Go With It (2011) as to summarize, have a similar plot. A guy convinces a woman to be his fake wife after claiming to another lady that he is married.
Ordinarily, both of these movies have also taken inspiration from the movie Cactus Flower (1969).
4. Vicky Donor – Delivery Man

5. Darr – Fear
#5 Bollywood movies which inspired Hollywood movies: The King of Romance, SRK, is a psycho lover in the film Darr (1993). Fear (1996) on the other hand, has a different story line. But if you notice, not only the title name of the film is translated and the concept of love triangle but also, the scene where SRK carves his love’s name on his chest is copied in the movie Fear.
6. Rangeela – Win A Date With Tad Hamilton!
#6 Bollywood movies which inspired Hollywood movies: Identically, the love triangle in the movie Rangeela (1995), where a woman, as can be seen, is stuck between two men. A movie star and her best friend is the idea which was then adopted by the makers of Win A Date With Tad Hamilton! (2004).
7. Do Ankhen Barah Haath – The Dirty Dozen
#7 Bollywood movies which inspired Hollywood movies: The Dirty Dozen (1967) got its inspiration from Do Ankhen Barah Haath (1957). It took the similar story from the movie where 12 jail convicts are transformed into good people indeed.
